Reader’s notes
p. 316. Five printed columns; the Total row carries values only in "Cases filed" and "Cases closed", with dash rules (transcribed as "") under "Cases on docket" and "Cases pending end of period". In the 1948 row label the abbreviation "Aug" is followed by a gap where a period would sit; the point is faint or lost in the scan, so it is transcribed as "Aug." to match the clearly printed "Oct." in the 1952 row and the caption's "August 22". The en dashes in the two parenthetical date ranges are rendered as plain hyphens. The stub heading is printed "Fiscal year" with a dotless i, an artifact of the scan; transcribed normally. No arithmetic was altered, and as a check all printed figures are internally consistent: the filed and closed columns each sum to the printed total of 53,381, and each year's docket and pending figures follow from the prior year's carryover.
