59 of 59 figures sit in a row or column sum that works out.

Reader’s notes

p. 292. Seven columns: stub, Total, and five petitioner columns under \"Identification of petitioner\"; \"Number of cases\" spans all six value columns and \"Total\" spans the lower two heading levels. The stub has no printed heading, so its heading cells are empty.\n\n\"RC cases 1\", \"RM cases 1\" and \"RD cases 1\" are centered section lines carrying only a label (with footnote marker 1); their value cells are empty.\n\nCells shown as dash rules are transcribed as \"\": the Employers column in all five RC rows, and the A.F.L./C.I.O./Unaffiliated unions/Individuals columns in all five RM rows.\n\nThe A.F.L. heading is printed as letter-spaced capitals; a period is clearly visible only after the A (\"A. F L affiliates\"), so the printed form may be \"A. F. L. affiliates\" with faint periods. \"C I O affiliates\" shows no periods.\n\nThe date ranges are printed with an en dash (\"1951–June 30, 1952\"); transcribed with a plain hyphen.\n\nThe footnote line at the bottom is clipped by the crop (only the upper half of the type is visible); it reads \"1 See p. 277 for definitions of types of cases.\" — the page number could conceivably be 377 rather than 277.\n\nAll printed totals check out: in each panel the row components sum to the Total column, pending + received = on docket, and closed + pending at June 30 = on docket. No arithmetic was performed on or altered in any cell.
