Reader’s notes

p. 291. Seven columns: stub plus Total, A. F. L. affiliates, C. I. O. affiliates, Unaffiliated unions, Individuals, Employers. The five case-type lines (NLRA-C cases^1, CA cases^1, CB cases^1, CC cases^1, CD cases^1) are printed as centered section banners spanning the data columns, not in the stub column; they are given here as label-only rows with empty value cells, each followed by its five data rows. Dash-rule cells transcribed as "": the Employers column for all five NLRA-C rows, the Employers column for "CA cases / Cases pending July 1, 1951", and the entire "Cases received July 1, 1951–June 30, 1952" row under NLRA-C cases (all six value cells are dash rules). Punctuation in two column headings is partly faint in the scan: the first period of "A. F. L." and the period after the "I" in "C. I. O." do not register clearly, printing roughly as "A F. L." and "C. I O.". I have transcribed them with the conventional full stops; the letters themselves are unambiguous. Row-label date ranges use an en dash in the original ("July 1, 1951–June 30, 1952"), kept as printed. Arithmetic check (not applied to the cells, only reported): every row's five identification columns sum exactly to the printed Total in all 25 data rows, including the NLRA-C rows where the Employers cell is a dash rule. No misprints detected.
