Size of unit in collective bargaining and decertification elections and union-shop polls, conducted during fiscal year 1951

p. 316. Layout: the table has three lettered panels (A, B, C), each printed as two side-by-side half-panels that repeat the same three columns. The column headings are printed once, above panel A, so they are given once here. Within each lettered panel the left half-panel's rows are given first, then the right half-panel's rows (the right half carries that panel's Total line). The lettered panel titles are printed as centred lines between the ruled panels and are transcribed as label-only section rows. Percent column, decimal points: in this scan the decimal point is lost in most Percent cells (e.g. the 1 to 9 row of panel A prints as "21 7", the 800 to 999 row of panel A prints a bare "6", and the 3,000 to 3,999 and 5,000 and over rows of panel A print a bare "1"). Periods are clearly visible in other cells of the same column ("2.0", "8.6", "7.3", ".7", ".2", ".8"). I have restored the decimal point in every such cell on the basis of column alignment and because the restored values sum exactly to the printed 100.0 in all three panels. Panel A, "4,000 to 4,999", Percent: the cell holds only a parenthesised raised 1 (the "less than 0.1 percent" reference) and no number; written as "(^1)". Arithmetic check (not altering anything transcribed): the Number of cases entries sum exactly to each printed total — 6,432 for panel A, 93 for panel B, 5,964 for panel C — and the restored Percent entries sum to 100.0 in each panel. One internal oddity as printed: panel A's "5,000 and over" shows 5 cases with .1 percent while "4,000 to 4,999" shows 1 case flagged as less than 0.1 percent; 5/6,432 is 0.08 percent, so the .1 appears to be a rounding/typesetting artifact of the original. Transcribed as printed. Minor scan artefacts, not transcribed: a stray dot precedes "Size of unit" in the right half-panel heading of panel A; a stray dot sits above the panel C title; a stray mark sits inside "4,000 to 6,999" in panel C.
