Arithmetic checks (not used to alter any cell): every data row's eight case-type columns sum exactly to its "All cases" figure; the nine division lines sum to the Total row; the manufacturing sub-lines sum to Manufacturing; the three transportation-equipment sub-lines sum to 763; the four mining sub-lines sum to 302; the seven transportation/communication sub-lines sum to 2,158. No internal inconsistency found. Doubtful / apparent misprints in the source, transcribed as printed: - Row "Electrical machinery, equipment, and supples": the last word is printed "supples" (evidently a misprint for "supplies"). - Row "Nonmetalic mining and quarrying": printed with a single "l" ("Nonmetalic"). - Row label read as "Other transportation": the scan is degraded and the word could be read as "Order"; "Other" is the reading consistent with the Standard Industrial Classification list used here, but the cell is uncertain. Its values are unambiguous. - The marker digits in the union-shop column (4, 5, 6) are raised digits printed to the left of the value; they are recorded after the number behind a caret (e.g. Total = 6,790^4). - "Primary metal industries", CC column: a stray ink dot sits just left of the 4; the printed value is 4. - Footnote 1 "Source" and footnote 2 "p" are followed by punctuation that is faint in the scan; rendered as "Source:" and "p." respectively. - The stub heading "Industrial group 1" is followed by a stray period/mark to its right, omitted. The body ends with "Services"; no continuation line is printed on this crop.
