p. 245. Panel designator: a centered line "A. ELECTIONS" is printed between the caption and the column headings (this crop is part A of Table 15; the vote-count part B is not on this image). It sits above the table rules and headings, so it is treated as caption material and is not transcribed as a row. Decimal points: this is a 1-bit scan in which many periods fail to reproduce. Most percent cells print as e.g. "21 3", "15 8", "25 5", "100 0", "69 2" with a gap where the decimal point belongs (a few, such as "37. 4", "71.9", "2.1", "8.7", "30.8", retain a visible dot). All percent values are one-decimal figures and have been transcribed with the decimal point restored. The same loss affects periods inside the abbreviations in row labels and headings ("A. F of L.", "C I. O."); these are given in the standard forms "A. F. of L." and "C. I. O." throughout. No digits were altered. Zero percents are typeset inconsistently in the original — some rows print "0" and others print ".0" (no leading zero). These are transcribed exactly as printed, which is why both forms appear in the percent columns. Row 16 label: printed as "A. F. of L. C. I. O. affiliates—unaffiliated unions". Unlike the other combination rows, the word "affiliates" does not appear after "A. F. of L.", and the connector between "L." and "C." is too faint to resolve; I have transcribed it as an em dash to match the pattern of the neighbouring rows, but the exact character there is uncertain. Row 16, "No union / Percent" column: reads "2.1" as printed, but 1 of 49 elections is 2.0 percent, so this is either a misprint in the original or a 0/1 ambiguity in the scan. Transcribed as read, not corrected. Empty cells in the body are printed as dash rules (------) and are given as "". Arithmetic check (not a correction, only a confidence check): in every row the four "Elections won by" Number cells sum exactly to the "Number of elections" cell, including the Total row (2,101 + 1,199 + 886 + 1,433 = 5,619), which confirms that each figure sits in the column shown.

The line "B ELIGIBLE VOTERS AND VALID VOTES CAST" is printed above the column headings as the title of this panel of a table continued from the preceding page; treated as a caption and omitted from the grid. Arithmetic check: all six count columns (Employees eligible to vote; Total valid votes cast; A. F. of L. Number; C. I. O. Number; Unaffiliated Number; No union Number; Employees in units choosing representation) sum over the 20 detail rows exactly to the printed Total row, and each detail row's four vote-category numbers sum to its printed Total valid votes cast. This gives high confidence in the digits and in the column each one sits in. Decimal points: in this 1-bit scan many printed decimal points in the percent columns did not reproduce, leaving a gap (e.g. the Total row reads "18 5", "22 3", "16 9"). These are transcribed with the decimal point restored, since every such value is unambiguously a one-decimal percent in context. Three percent cells disagree by 0.1 with the value implied by the printed counts; all are transcribed as printed, not corrected: (1) Total row, A. F. of L. affiliates Percent, reads 18.5 though 145,013/781,382 = 18.56; (2) row "A. F. of L. affiliates—unaffiliated unions", A. F. of L. affiliates Percent, reads 38.2 though 15,280/40,062 = 38.14; (3) row "A. F. of L. affiliates—C. I. O. affiliates—2 unaffiliated unions", Unaffiliated unions Percent, reads 37.0 though 752/2,029 = 37.06. Each is either a printed rounding quirk or a faint-digit misread (5/6, 1/2, 0/1); the scan reads as transcribed. In the row "2 A. F. of L. affiliates—C. I. O. affiliates—unaffiliated unions" the No union Percent is printed as "0", not ".0" as in the comparable C. I. O. Percent cell of the same row. Column headings are set with worn periods ("A. F of L affiliates", "C I. O affiliates"); transcribed in their standard form "A. F. of L. affiliates" and "C. I. O. affiliates". Likewise the label of the row "A. F. of L. affiliates—C. I. O. affiliates—unaffiliated unions" is set with displaced spacing ("A. F o fL. affiliates"). Stray ink specks appear after "134,584" (row "C. I.
