Reader’s notes

p. 242. Six columns (stub plus five), with the spanner "Identification of complainant" covering the last four. "Cases" and "Workers" are banner lines printed centered across the data columns rather than in the stub; they are given here as label-only section rows in the stub with empty value cells. The footnote marker 2 is printed as a raised digit to the left of 2,259 in the Total column of "Workers receiving back pay"; it is recorded as 2,259^2. The "1" in the caption is a footnote marker on the title, which is not transcribed. The stub reads "A. F of L. affiliates" and "C I. O. affiliates" with the punctuation as printed (the scan's periods are faint and inconsistent). The last digit of 507 (Individuals, "Workers receiving back pay") sits at the extreme right edge of the crop but is legible. All five rows of each panel cross-add to their printed totals, and the back-pay award components sum to $1,077,850, so no printed figure appears to be in error.
