p. 233. Seven columns: stub, Total^1, and five "Identification of petitioner" columns. The "Total^1" heading is a tall single heading boxed from the top rule down through all three heading levels; the "Number of cases" spanner and its rule cover only the five petitioner columns to the right of Total, so it is repeated in those five columns only and the Total column is not included in it. The stub has no printed heading. Section lines (NLRA R cases^2, RC cases^2, RM cases^2, RD cases^2, UA cases^2) are printed centered across the data columns, not in the stub; they are placed in cell 0 here with the remaining cells empty. Footnote markers in the UA section are printed as small raised digits to the LEFT of the values (e.g. a raised 3 before 711, raised 6 before 1, 7, 8, 8); per instructions they are written after the value behind a caret. Footnote 5 ("Includes 8 UD cases.") is used for both the "on docket" total 7,255 and the "closed" total 6,264. In the NLRA R cases block the Total column has scanner smudges/ink blobs to the left of the figures on the "on docket" (27), "closed" (22) and "pending June 30, 1950" (5) rows; these are stray marks, not digits or footnote markers, and the figures are legible and internally consistent (10+16+1 = 27, 8+13+1 = 22, 2+3 = 5). The NLRA R "Cases received July 1, 1949–June 30, 1950" row is a dash rule in every column including Total, so all its cells are "". Cells rendered as dash rules (RC and UA Employers column; RM affiliate/unaffiliated/individuals columns) are transcribed as "". Column heads 3 and 4 are printed "A. F. of L" / "C I. O." with the second showing a wide gap and no clearly inked period after the C; transcribed as "A. F. of L affiliates" and "C I. O. affiliates". The RM "Cases on docket" row label is printed with a period rather than a comma — "July 1, 1949–June 30. 1950"; transcribed with the comma to match the other four occurrences, since it appears to be a typesetting slip. All row/column sums check out against the printed totals in every section; no arithmetic discrepancies found.
