Reader’s notes

p. 211. This crop is an appendix list of cases (case number in the stub, party name in column 2), not a numeric table; it carries no column headings, so header_rows is empty. Layout: the page holds two stacked blocks, each set as two side-by-side panels separated by a vertical rule. Following the two-panel rule, rows are given one panel under the other: first block = left panel (8-CA-111 … 4-CA-16) then right panel (18-CA-25 … 6-CA-7); then the section line "C. LMRA: CB cases…"; then second block = left panel (8-CB-7 … 21-CB-18) then right panel (14-CB-13 … 20-CB-38). Column-break continuation: the name for 21-CB-18 runs past the bottom of the second block's left panel and resumes, without a case number, at the top of the right panel ("Workers Local 266 (Tan Juan of Hollywood)."). I joined those lines into the single 21-CB-18 row rather than leaving an orphan stub-less row; a reader comparing to the page will see those words printed at the top right. Doubtful readings (all in the name column): "Tan Juan of Hollywood" in 21-CB-18 (the first word is blurred; could be "San Juan"); "Weaver Wintark" in 4-CA-16; "Dr. Charles Goo" in 37-CA-8; "Maroosis" in 20-CB-34; "Erectors" in 36-CB-2 (ink smudge on the final letters). Printed-as-is items: 21-C-468 (Western Wear of California Inc.) is printed with the old "C" case prefix while every neighbor uses "CA" — transcribed as printed. 21-CB-18 is followed by a small stray ink mark that I read as dirt, not a footnote marker. The 21-CB-68 entry genuinely contains the clause "8 (b) 2 indicated in language of charge involving 1 employee." inside the party name, as printed. Vertical blank gaps separate alphabetic groups (after 21-CA-205, after 4-CA-16 in the right panel before 6-CA-7); they are spacing only and no row was dropped. Blocks of blank space in the second block's right panel are column-fill, not missing rows. The caption/running head ("194 Fourteenth Annual Report…") and the page number are omitted; the list continues onto the following page.

p. 212. This is an Appendix C case list, not a numeric table: two printed columns (stub = case number, second column = union/case name). No column headings are printed on this page — the list continues from the preceding page — so header_rows is empty. Layout: the page holds two stacked blocks, each set as two side-by-side panels. Rows are given panel by panel: upper block left panel (36-CB-4 … 2-CB-75), then upper block right panel (2-CB-88 … 2-CB-110), then the section line "D. LMRA: CC cases—charge of unfair labor practices committed by a union under section 8 (b) (4) (A), (B), (C)" (a label spanning the full width, no value), then lower block left panel (6-CC-17, 17-CC-2), then lower block right panel (30-CC-3 … 35-CC-7). Panel-break join: the entry 2-CB-75 runs off the foot of the upper-left panel ("… Locals 49, 86, 93, 97, and 102,") and continues at the head of the upper-right panel ("104 (Wilson & Co., Inc.)."). I have joined it into the single row 2-CB-75; the right panel therefore has no orphan first row. Doubtful readings (all in the name column): "E. J. Givren Shoe Co., Inc." at 1-CB-33 — the surname could be Giveen/Givren; "MacCanlis, H., Co., Inc." at 2-CB-109; "Bell International Picture, Inc." at 21-CB-72. 21-CB-38 ends without a period after "Corp.)" as printed. At 5-CB-14 a small stray ink mark follows "Mine Workers," in the original; it is not a footnote marker and is not transcribed. Case numbers are printed with en dashes (36–CB–4); transcribed with plain hyphens. The running head "Appendix C: Cases Heard During the Period July 1, 1948–June 30, 1949" and page number 195 are omitted as instructed.
