Record of injunctions petitioned for under secs. 10 (j) and 10 (l) during the fiscal year 1949

p. 204. The crop ends mid-table: the last row (10-CC-15) is the final one visible, its label's third line "Co.)." sits right at the bottom rule, and no footnote block is printed on this image even though footnote markers 1, 2 and 3 appear in the body (row 17-CC-2 "Date issued"; row 30-CC-4 "Date injunction denied"; row 2-CC-50, 51 "Date temporary injunction granted"; row 10-CC-15 "Date injunction denied"). The footnote texts presumably follow on the continuation page. Column assignment notes: in row 17-CC-2, "Nov. 6, 1948" is printed twice, once under "Temporary restraining order - Date lifted" and once under "Date injunction denied"; both are transcribed where printed. In row 30-CC-4 the only date after the petition date is "Sept. 22, 1948 2" and it sits under "Date injunction denied". Row 8-CC-4 and row 2-CC-64, 65, 66 carry only a filing date and petition type; all remaining cells are dash rules. Typography/legibility: the scan is a 1-bit halftone and the abbreviation periods are inconsistent and sometimes faint. I read "July 3, 1948", "Aug. 17, 1948", "Aug. 25, 1948", "Aug. 30, 1948" (8-CC-4), "Aug. 9, 1948" (petition date, row 2-CC-59) with periods, and "Aug 20, 1948", "Aug 30, 1948" (30-CC-4), "Aug 9, 1948" (Date issued, row 2-CC-59) and the four "Sept" filing dates without; a reader should treat the presence or absence of these periods as uncertain. In the first row's filing date there is a stray comma-like mark before the day ("July ,3,1948" as scanned); I transcribe it as "July 3, 1948". The petition type is rendered "10 (l)" (lowercase letter el) throughout except the one "10 (j)", following the caption's reference to secs. 10 (j) and 10 (l); in the scan the el is easily confused with the digit 1. In row 13-CC-5, 7 the company reads "Joilet Contractors Association" (apparently a misprint for "Joliet"); transcribed as printed. Trailing leader dots after case numbers, petition types and the 20-CC-30 company name were dropped, as were the trailing dots that may or may not be periods on the stub labels "2-CC-59, 2-CD-18" and "15-CC-10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15".

p. 205. Continuation page (printed page 188); no column headings are printed on this crop, so header_rows is empty. The grid has 10 ruled columns: case number (stub), name of case, date, section-of-act, and six further columns that are empty on every row of this page except for the dates shown. Columns 5, 6, 9 and 10 are filled with dash leader rules throughout and are transcribed as "". Column assignment of the dates was read off the vertical column rules: "Feb. 3, 1949", "June 10, 1949", "May 25, 1949", "May 14, 1949" and "June 13, 1919" all sit in column 7; "June 1, 1949" (row 9-CC-21) sits one column further right, in column 8. Doubtful cells: (a) row 21-CC-60, column 7 reads "June 13, 1919" in the scan; given a May 19, 1949 filing date and every other year on the page being 1948/1949, this is almost certainly a broken "4" in "1949", but it is transcribed as it appears. (b) A lone superscript "1" is printed at the very top edge of the crop, above the column-6 dash rule of the first row (36-CC-1 etc.); it has no value attached to it and may be the footnote marker of a date in the row immediately above, on the preceding page, clipped by the crop. It is therefore not attached to any cell here. (c) A small ink blob sits in the stub column between "21-CC-60" and "19-CC-12"; it is read as a scan artifact, not a footnote marker. No footnote markers 2 or 3 appear on this page; those footnotes refer to rows on other pages of the same table. Text readings: the scan drops many light periods after abbreviations ("Co )", "Al J , Co , Inc.", "William G )", "W J., Co )"); these have been restored as "Co.", "Al. J., Co., Inc.", "William G.", "W. J., Co.". End-of-line hyphens were repaired: "Pettus-Banis-/ter" to "Pettus-Banister", "Fed-/erated", "Westing-/house", "Em-/ployees", "Mon-/toya", "Electri-/cal", "Schnei-/der", "Bev-/erages", "Cam-/lin". The break "Juneau-/Spruce" is ambiguous; it is rendered "Juneau Spruce Corp." after the actual company name (Juneau Spruce Corporation), but the printed hyphen could be a real compound hyphen. In row 9-CC-21 no comma is visible between "Local 16" and "AFL", so none was supplied, unlike the other rows.
