Disposition of representation cases closed, by stage and method, during the fiscal year 1949

p. 182. Grid is 11 columns: stub plus five two-column panels (All R, NLRA R, RC, RM, RD), each panel "Number of cases" / "Percent of cases closed". Decimal points: this is a 1-bit scan in which the period in the percent columns is frequently dropped, so most percents image as e.g. "75 9", "100 0", "1 4". The percent columns are uniformly one-decimal (several cells, such as All R "100. 0", RM "Dismissed" 18.1 and NLRA "Dismissed" 27.7, do retain a visible point), so the decimal point has been restored throughout the percent columns. No digits were altered. Zero percent cells: the convention in this table is inconsistent in the scan — some zero percents show a visible point (".0", e.g. NLRA "Recognition" and "Otherwise" before formal action) while others image as a bare "0". Cells read as a bare "0" are transcribed "0": RD "Recognition" and RD "Otherwise" (before formal action); NLRA "Dismissed", RD "Stipulated election" and RD "Recognition" (before hearing); NLRA/RM/RD "Recognition" and RM "Dismissed" (after hearing); RM "Withdrawn" (after Board decision). Some of these may be printed ".0". Footnote-reference cells: "(^2)" is a standalone parenthesised raised 2 (= "Less than 0.1 percent") filling the whole cell, not a value with an attached marker. It occurs at "Recognition" before hearing (All R percent, RC percent) and at "Recognition" and "Dismissed" after hearing (RC percent). Arithmetic verification: every count column reconciles exactly — all five panels' subtotals sum to their section totals and to the grand total (e.g. All R 7,017 + 2,228 = 9,245; 267 + 255 + 1,706 = 2,228; 862 + 717 + 94 + 33 = 1,706), so the number columns are well supported. Suspected source misprints / doubtful percent cells (transcribed as read, not corrected): - "Recognition" in the after-hearing block, All R percent, reads ".1", but 4 of 9,245 is 0.04 percent and the parallel RC cell with the same 4 cases is marked "(^2)". This cell is the single most doubtful reading on the page; it may be "(^2)". - "Stipulated election" in the after-hearing block, RM percent, reads ".5", but 2 of 482 implies ".4". - "Withdrawn" in the before-hearing block, NLRA percent, reads ".5", but 1 of 177 implies ".6" (and the sibling "Stipulated election" cell with the same 1 case is printed ".6"). - "Recognition" before formal action, RM percent, reads "1.6", while "Consent election" before hearing with the same 8 cases is printed "1.7". - Minor rounding disagreements, apparently as printed: "After Board decision" NLRA 70.7 and "Certified after Board ordered election" NLRA 35.1 (125/177 and 62/177 imply 70.6 and 35.0); "After hearing" RC 2.6 (implies 2.7); "Dismissed" after Board decision All R 7.7 (implies 7.8); "After Board ordered election" All R 3.6 (implies 3.7). Dash rules: on the "Decertified" row the NLRA, RC and RM columns carry dash rules; those six cells are "". Stray ink: a dot sits right of the NLRA percent "3.4" on the after-hearing "Adjusted" row and a comma-like mark right of the RC percent "3.7" on the "After Board ordered election" row; both read as page dirt and are not transcribed.
