114 of 114 figures sit in a row or column sum that works out.
p. 173. Seven printed columns: stub, Total, and five "Identification of complainant or petitioner" columns. The stub has no printed heading, so the stub cell is empty in all three heading levels; "Total" is a tall heading spanning heading levels 2 and 3 and is repeated in both. "All cases", "Unfair labor practice cases", "Representation cases" and "Union-shop authorization cases" are centered banner lines spanning the data columns; they are transcribed as label-only rows. The same five row labels repeat under each banner. In the "Union-shop authorization cases" panel the Employers column is a dash rule ("---------") in all five rows, and the Individuals column is a dash rule in the "Cases pending July 1, 1948" row; all of these are transcribed as "". The footnote markers 1, 2 and 3 are small raised digits printed to the LEFT of the Total-column figures 12,190; 19,598; 18,887 and 711; they are recorded after the value behind a caret. Footnote 3 on 711 is faint in the scan but legible as a raised 3, consistent with the footnote list. Arithmetic checks pass throughout: every row's five identification columns sum to its Total, the three case-type panels sum to the "All cases" panel, pending + received = on docket, and on docket − closed = pending June 30, 1949, in all columns. No misprint detected. There is a small stray ink mark just left of "206" in the Employers column of the "Unfair labor practice cases / Cases pending June 30, 1949" row, and another just left of the "Representation cases" banner; both are scan artifacts, not digits or punctuation, and are not transcribed. The dashes inside the date labels ("1948–June 30, 1949") are reproduced as en dashes.
