Reader’s notes

p. 127. Five columns: stub "Results" plus Number/Percent under each of two date-span spanners. No footnotes are printed under the table. Decimal points: in this 1-bit scan the period in many percent cells is too faint to render, so cells print as e.g. "100 0", "64 0", "8 0", "20 0", "25 1", "13 4", "1 9", "72 6", "17 8". All are one-decimal percentages and I have transcribed them with the decimal point ("100.0", "64.0", "8.0", "20.0", "25.1", "13.4", "1.9", "72.6", "17.8"); other cells in the same columns ("8.0", "59.6", "3.2", "1.6", "66.7", "33.3") show the point clearly. Each group sums to 100.0 and the Number columns sum to their totals (32+4+10+4=50; 468+197+105+15=785; 2+1=3; 45+11+2+1+2+1=62), which confirms the readings. Likewise the abbreviation periods render faintly: the stub reads "U S. Supreme Court" on the image but is printed "U. S. Supreme Court", and "United States" / "modification" / "remand" show broken letterforms from the scan (e.g. "Umted", "modificatIon", "1emand"); I have given the intended spellings. In the Supreme Court section, the 1948-49 Number and Percent cells for "Board orders enforced in full", "Board orders set aside", "Remanded to Board" and "Board's request for remand or modification of enforced orders denied" hold only a dash/leader rule, transcribed as "".
