Reader’s notes

p. 114. Five printed columns (stub + Total + four complainant columns); the table is one panel, not side-by-side panels. Section-line placement: the line "A. CASES FILED UNDER SEC. 8 OF NLRA" is printed between the caption and the column headings (it is a section head for the first block of the body, centred across the full table width). I have kept it as the first body row rather than as a heading level, so that no printed line is lost; the column headings themselves are given once in header_rows and apply to both section A and section B. The parallel line "B. CASES FILED UNDER SEC. 8 (a) OF LMRA" is printed mid-table and appears as a body row in its printed position. "Cases" and "Workers" are centred spanner labels printed across the five data columns (not in the stub) to divide each section into a case-count block and a worker-count block. I have recorded each as a label-only row with the label in the stub cell, since the grid has no other place for them. Two-line row label joined with its end-of-line hyphen repaired: "Workers reinstated to remedy discriminatory dis- charge" -> "Workers reinstated to remedy discriminatory discharge" (occurs once in each section). Typesetting spaces after commas in the figures ("1, 051", "$401, 370", "$26, 260", etc.) have been closed up as instructed. Arithmetic check (not used to alter any cell): in both sections every row's four complainant figures sum exactly to the printed Total, including the dollar rows, so column assignment is well corroborated. Scan quality is good; no cell was illegible and no part of the table is cut off by the crop. There are stray ink specks in the blank upper-left area and a small mark near the "B." rule, none of which carry values or footnote markers. No footnotes are printed under the table.
