Reader’s notes

p. 105. Seven columns: stub plus Total and the five complainant columns. "Number of cases" is a top-level spanner over all six data columns; "Total" is a tall heading spanning the second and third heading levels; "Identification of complainant" spans the five right-hand columns. The stub has no printed heading at any level. The five centred section lines ("C cases", "CA cases", ... ) carry a raised 2 footnote marker and no values. In the first one the letter is a slightly open sans-type C that reads like an "O" in this scan; the CA/CB/CC/CD sections that follow confirm it is "C cases". In the C cases and CA cases blocks the Employers column is filled with a dash rule (------) on every line; those cells are transcribed as "". Every row's five component figures sum exactly to the printed Total, in all six blocks, so no printed total appears to be in error. Row labels all ended in leader dots, which have been dropped; the date ranges use the en dash as printed ("Aug. 22, 1947–June 30, 1948"). Scattered ink specks in the stub and in the blank area left of the Total column are page noise, not characters.
