p. 97. Ten columns. "Fiscal year" and "Number of elections and cross checks" are tall single headings spanning both heading levels; "Elections and cross checks won by—" spans columns 2-5 and "Valid votes cast for—" spans columns 6-9. The cells printed as a parenthesised raised 2 (the 1936-1940 rows and the total row, in the two "Valid votes cast for—" A. F. of L. and C. I. O. columns) are reference marks to footnote 2 and are the entire cell content; they are transcribed as "(2)". 1936, column "C. I. O. affiliates" (elections won) is a dash rule in the image, transcribed as "". Doubtful cell: 1943, "A. F. of L. affiliates" (elections won). The glyph is ambiguous between 6 and 8 in this 1-bit scan; I read it as 1,398 because that is the only single-cell reading consistent with both the printed row total (4,153 = 1,398+1,766+416+573) and the printed column total (12,353). If the intended digit were 6 both printed totals would have to be wrong. Every other row and every other column foots exactly to the printed totals. Suspected misprint or misread in the "Against union" column: the twelve fiscal-year rows plus the July 1-Aug. 21, 1947 row sum to 1,531,351, while the total row prints 1,531,301, a difference of 50. I could not identify which cell is at fault (a tens digit read as 3 where 8 is printed, or a 5 read as 0 in the total itself), so all values are transcribed as read. Heading doubt: column 8's heading under "Valid votes cast for—" is set over three lines with an end-of-line hyphen and prints as "Unaffil-/iates/union"; I joined it to "Unaffiliates union". It may be intended as "Unaffiliated union", matching "Unaffiliated unions" in column 4, but I transcribed the characters as they appear. A printer's signature line "766309—48——7" appears below the footnotes at the bottom left of the crop; it is not part of the table and is omitted.
