Reader’s notes

p. 92. The table is 16 columns: stub plus three 5-column groups (All cases / Unfair labor practice cases / Representation cases), each group being Number of cases (All, Before formal action, After formal action) and Percent of total (Before formal action, After formal action). Crop edges: the caption line at the very top is cut off (only the bottom of its letters shows) and is omitted as instructed. The single footnote at the bottom is clipped horizontally through the lower half of its letters; the wording is still legible and I read it as "1 Including the period July 1-Aug. 21, 1947." The dash in that date range and in the "Total, 1936-47" label is printed as an en dash; I transcribed it as a plain hyphen. Arithmetic consistency (checked only to validate the reading, nothing was computed into a cell): in every row the Before + After columns sum to the corresponding "All" column, the ULP and Representation "All" columns sum to the All-cases "All" column, and the twelve fiscal-year rows plus the July 1-Aug. 21, 1947 row sum to the printed Total, 1936-47 of 101,408. No misprints found. The superscript 1 on the Total row label is a footnote marker, written as "Total, 1936-47^1". No other markers are attached to values or headings.
