p. 85. 15 columns: stub + Number/Percent pairs for "Elections and cross checks", the four Winner categories (A. F. of L., C. I. O., Unaffiliated, No union), "Eligible voters ...", and "Valid votes cast ...". Internal checks that support the column assignment: the 19 manufacturing subgroup values (Food through Electrical machinery, plus Transportation equipment and Miscellaneous manufacturing) sum exactly to the printed Manufacturing line in the Elections Number column (5,355), the A. F. of L. column (1,567), the C. I. O. column (1,794), the Unaffiliated column (674), the No union column (1,320), and the Eligible voters Number column (799,691); the four Transportation equipment sub-items sum exactly to its line in each of those columns as well; and all four Winner percentages sum to 100.0 on every row. The one discrepancy is in the last Number column (Valid votes cast): the 19 subgroup values as transcribed sum to 692,897, i.e. 40 more than the printed Manufacturing figure of 692,857. These last two columns are the most degraded part of the scan (heavy bold, broken strokes), so this is either a single misread tens digit in one subgroup or a misprint in the source subtotal; I could not resolve which at this resolution. Every cell is transcribed as read, with nothing computed or corrected. Scan degradation in the two right-hand spanner headings renders "cast" as "east" and "checks" as "ckecks"/"ehecks"; I have transcribed the intended words. The small raised 1 on the stub heading "Industrial groups" is carried as ^1. The crop ends just below the Miscellaneous manufacturing line (the table continues onto a following page with the nonmanufacturing groups). No footnote text falls inside the crop, so `footnotes` is empty, although a faint stray "1" is visible below the bottom rule under the Valid votes columns, which is likely the start of the cut-off footnote 1.

O., Unaffiliated, No union), then Number/Percent for "Eligible voters in all elections and cross checks" and for "Valid votes cast in all elections and cross checks". Heading misprint: the percent column under "Eligible voters in all elections and cross checks" is printed "Per- cenr", not "Per- cent"; transcribed as printed ("Percenr"). Faint decimal points: three cells in the A. F. of L. Percent column print as a digit, a gap, then a digit with the point not inked — Highway passenger transportation ("34 4"), Other transportation ("17 5"), and Communication ("44 7"). They are transcribed 34.4, 17.5 and 44.7, which matches the one-decimal format of every other percent cell and the printed counts (22/64, 7/40, 46/103). A stray ink speck sits just left of the ".3" in the Metal mining row, Valid votes cast Percent column; it is page dirt, not a footnote marker, and is not transcribed. Footnote 1 reads "Strandard Industrial classification" — an evident misprint for "Standard"; transcribed as printed. Printed-value arithmetic: several percents differ by 0.1 from the ratio implied by the printed counts (e.g. Metal mining C. I. O. 18/37 = 48.6 but 48.7 is printed; Nonmetallic mining C. I. O. 14/51 = 27.5 but 27.4 is printed; Retail trade A. F. of L. 102/229 = 44.5 but 44.6 is printed; Finance Unaffiliated 2/33 = 6.1 but 6.0 is printed). All are transcribed as printed. The four winner counts do sum to the elections total in every row. The row label "Transportation, communication, and other public util- ities" wraps over two printed lines and is joined into one row; its values are printed on the second line. The crop is a continuation page ("—Con." in the caption, excluded), so the body begins at Mining with no grand-total row; the industry groups are separated only by horizontal rules, with no section-label rows.
