p. 81. The scan is a coarse 1-bit image in which the digits 3, 5, 6, 8 and 9 are easily confused; several cells were read against the printed percentages to settle the glyph. Doubtful cells: (1) "Unaffiliated", column "Elections and cross checks in which union participated / Number" — the glyph after "1," could be 3 or 8; transcribed 1,317 because 860/1,317 = 65.3, the percent printed in the next-but-one column, while 1,817 would give 47.3. (2) "A. F. of L.", same column, reads as either 3,581 or 8,581; transcribed 3,581 (2,196/3,581 = 61.3, as printed). (3) "C. I. O.", "Number of valid votes cast" (539,768) and "Valid votes cast for union / Number" (288,381) are blurred but match the printed 53.4 percent. (4) "Unaffiliated", "Number of valid votes cast" (226,055) matches the printed 55.2 percent. The percent cells are printed with a space before the decimal digit ("61. 3"); transcribed without the space. The trailing period of "C. I. O." runs into the leader dots and is restored. No footnotes are printed beneath the table.
