p. 81. Seven columns: stub plus three two-column pairs (Number/Percent) under "Elections and cross checks", "Eligible voters" and "Valid votes". Nine body rows, with "Elections"/"Cross checks" appearing twice, as the indented breakdown of "Consent" and of "Stipulated" respectively; the table has no footnotes. The scan is a degraded 1-bit image in which the digit 3 is frequently rendered so that it reads like an 8 (and vice versa). Where a glyph was ambiguous I resolved it using the table's own internal arithmetic (component rows summing to their subtotal, subtotals summing to the Total row, and the printed percentages), not by correcting any printed value. Cells where the glyph was ambiguous and resolved this way: Total / Eligible voters Number = 934,553 (489,125+154,263+80,932+210,233); Elections (under Consent) / Eligible voters Number = 463,803 and Cross checks (under Consent) / Eligible voters Number = 25,322 (they sum to 489,125, and 25,322 gives the printed 2.7 percent, whereas the alternative pair 463,303/25,822 would give 2.8); Cross checks (under Consent) / Valid votes Percent = 2.3 (18,690 of 805,474 = 2.3, and 49.8+2.3 = the printed 52.1; the glyph could be taken for 2.8); Stipulated / Valid votes Number = 133,456 and Elections (under Stipulated) / Valid votes Number = 132,975 (132,975+481 = 133,456, and these feed the 805,474 column total; the leading 13- could be read as 18-). All other arithmetic checks out as transcribed: the Number columns' components and subtotals sum to the printed totals, and each percent column sums to 100.0. The only rounding oddity is Ordered elections / Elections and cross checks Percent = 12.6, where 876 of 6,920 is 12.66 (truncated rather than rounded); it is printed as 12.6 and is needed for the column to sum to 100.0. Percentages are printed with a space after the decimal point ("100. 0", ". 1") and thousands with a space after the comma; both have been closed up as instructed.
