Reader’s notes

p. 114. Four printed columns, one heading level. Decimal points: in this scan the decimal point in the two percent columns failed to print in most cells (they read as \"100 0\", \"90 7\", \"19 9\", etc.), while it is clearly visible in others in the same columns (\"57.1\", \"0.4\", \"3.7\", \"1.4\", \"2.0\", \"1.1\"). Since every value in these columns is a percentage carried to one decimal place, I transcribed all of them with a decimal point; no digits were altered. The two \"Percent\" cells of the last row (\"Dismissed\" under \"After court action\") hold only a superscript footnote reference in parentheses in place of a value; I wrote it as (^1), pointing to footnote 1, \"Less than 0.1 percent.\" The \"Percent of cases closed\" cell of \"Cases on docket during the year\" is a dash/leader rule, so it is \"\". In the \"Closed otherwise\" row under \"Before formal action, total\", the \"Percent of cases closed\" cell is printed with a stray mark before the digits (\"·0 1\"); I read it as 0.1. A similar stray mark follows \"0 4\" in the \"Percent of cases on docket\" cell of \"Compliance with Intermediate Report\". The label of the first row under \"After Board decision\" prints as \"Complianco\" because of a degraded final letter; it is \"Compliance\". The page carries scattered pencil/ink specks in the stub column (beside \"After formal action, total\", \"Before hearing\", \"Dismissed\") that are not type. The crop includes a sliver of the preceding body line of running text above the caption; it is not part of the table. Row indentation levels (the stub hierarchy) are not carried in the grid: \"Total number of cases closed\" is indented under the docket line, and the \"Adjusted/Withdrawn/Dismissed/Compliance\" rows are sub-items of the stage lines above them. Printed figures were not checked against their totals; the 270 \"After formal action, total\" line sums over the stage lines 18, 43, 101 and 108, which total 270 as printed.
