Reader’s notes
p. 91. Four printed columns, one heading level. The "Percent of cases closed" cell on the "Cases on docket during the year" row holds only a dash rule, so it is transcribed as "". In the "Closed otherwise" row under "Before formal action, total", the last two cells are printed as a raised 1 in parentheses standing in place of a number (a reference to footnote 1, "Less than 0.1 percent."); they are transcribed as printed, "(1)", rather than with the caret marker notation, since the marker is the entire cell content and is not attached to a value. All printed totals cross-foot correctly: 478+1,188+355+1 = 2,022; 19+8+2 = 29; 7+14+5+3+0 = 29; 56+12+3 = 71; 58+96+3+0 = 157; 29+29+71+157 = 286; 2,022+286 = 2,308. The "Compliance with court order" count is somewhat broken in the scan but reads 96, which the 157 subtotal confirms. The scan carries scattered stray ink specks (e.g. a dot above the 3,633 cell and in the heading band) that are not footnote markers; the stub label "Total number of cases closed" has a speck between "cases" and "closed".
