- 1 “Workers” are not included for “all cases” since the definition of “workers” differs for the two types of Board cases. In unfair labor practice cases “workers involved” are the number employed in the establishment in which the case arises. For representation cases, the definition is the number of workers in the “unit” for which the petition is filed or the number in the unit found appropriate by the Board.

Reader’s notes
p. 87. Seven columns: stub plus Total, four complainant/petitioner columns, and the workers column. The stub has no printed heading, so cell 0 is empty in all three heading levels. "Number of cases" spans the five case columns; "Total number of workers involved" is a tall single heading spanning all three levels; "Total" spans the lower two levels. "All cases", "Unfair labor practice cases" and "Representation cases" are centered section lines printed across the body with no values; they are transcribed as label-only rows. In the "All cases" section the workers column holds only a parenthesized footnote reference with a raised 1 — no value is printed. I transcribed those five cells as "(^1)"; a reader who prefers the literal printed glyph string would read them as "(1)". Date-range row labels are printed with an en dash ("July 1944–June 1945"); I kept the en dash rather than a hyphen. Nothing appears cut off by the crop, and the typesetting spaces after commas (e.g. "12, 336", "2, 334, 801") were closed up. All internal arithmetic checks hold: the two case-type sections sum to "All cases" in every column, pending + received = on docket, on docket - closed = pending at June 30, and the four identification columns sum to Total in every row. No misprints detected.
