Reader’s notes

p. 87. Six printed columns: stub, Total, and four columns under the spanner "Identification of complainant". The stub column has no printed heading; "Total" is a tall heading spanning both heading levels. "Cases" and "Workers" are centered section banners printed across the data columns, transcribed as label-only rows. No footnotes are printed under the table. A clipped line of body text from the preceding paragraph ("...end of the period") appears at the very top of the crop, above the caption, and is not part of the table. A small stray ink mark (a short dash) sits between the Total and "A. F. of L. affiliates" columns on the "Company union disestablished" row; it is printer's dirt, not a value or a footnote marker. All four complainant columns sum exactly to the printed Total in every data row, including the back-pay dollar row, so no misprints are suspected.
