Regional distribution of cases received during the fiscal year 1944, compared with 1943

Layout: 10 columns — stub "Regional Office" (spanning both heading levels) plus three 3-column panels (All cases / Unfair labor practice cases / Representation cases), each with Fiscal year 1944, Fiscal year 1943, Percent increase or decrease. Footnote marker 1 is printed as a raised "1" immediately BEFORE the Total-row figures in the "All cases, Fiscal year 1944" (9,176) and "Unfair labor practice cases, Fiscal year 1944" (2,573) columns; per convention it is recorded after the value as ^1. The cells for Indianapolis, Milwaukee and Denver in the 1944 and percent columns carry a raised footnote reference in parentheses instead of a figure; these are transcribed as "(2)". In the Milwaukee row the reference in the "Unfair labor practice cases, Percent increase or decrease" column is smudged in the scan and could be read as "(3)"; since the table has only two footnotes and every sibling cell in that row reads "(2)", it is transcribed as "(2)". Scan-quality reads worth flagging, all resolved with confidence from the arithmetic or context: New Orleans / Representation cases, Fiscal year 1944 is 200 (the second 0 is broken and can look like "C"); Chicago / Unfair labor practice cases, Fiscal year 1943 is 264. Minus signs are printed as long en-dashes and are transcribed as "-". No internal inconsistencies found: 2,573 + 6,603 = 9,176 and 3,403 + 6,140 = 9,543, and the printed percentages agree with the figures shown. The regional-office rows do not sum to the totals because three offices were abolished (footnote 2).
