Reader’s notes

p. 33. Six printed columns: two stub-type label columns (Petitioning union, Intervening union) followed by Elections (Number, Percent won by petitioner) and Valid votes (Number, Percent won by petitioner); the two spanner headings sit over columns 3-4 and 5-6 respectively. Row labels run into leader dots, so the trailing period of each abbreviation is not separable from the first leader dot; "A. F. of L." and "C.I.O." are transcribed with closing periods, and the union name is printed without internal spaces in "C.I.O." but with spaces in "A. F. of L.". The scan has scattered stray specks (e.g. a mark before "A." in row 2 and before "152,905" in row 3); these are read as printing/scan noise, not footnote markers. No total row and no footnotes are printed under the table. All percentages are printed with a space after the decimal point in the original (e.g. "60. 8"); the space has been removed per instruction.
