Reader’s notes

p. 28. Seven columns: stub plus three two-column panels (All cases / Unfair labor practice cases / Representation cases), each with Number and Percent increase compared with 1942. Cells printed as a dashed rule (e.g. the Unfair labor practice columns on "Notices of Hearing issued", "Elections directed" and the two "Certifications or dismissals" rows, and the Representation columns on "Intermediate Reports...", "Decisions and Orders", "Decisions and Consent Orders") are transcribed as "". On the "Complaints issued" row the Representation columns are simply blank, with no dash rule. The percent figures are typeset with a space after the decimal point ("11. 4", "27. 6", "29. 4", "27. 1"); transcribed without the space. The last six rows are indented under "Decisions issued", which is set off by a double rule; the indentation is not reproduced in the labels. Arithmetic is internally consistent as printed (365+1,471=1,836; 405+1,361=1,766; 265+140+1,041+237+83=1,766). A stray ink speck appears to the right of the "Cases heard" row in the All cases Number column and beside "29.6" on the "Decisions and Consent Orders" row; neither is a digit or footnote marker. No footnotes are printed under the table.
