Reader’s notes
p. 83. Six printed columns. The stub column carries no printed heading, so cell 0 of both heading levels is empty; "Total number of cases 1" is a tall single heading spanning both levels, and "Party filing" spans the four right-hand columns. "All cases", "Unfair labor practice cases" and "Representation cases" are centered band headings printed across the body panel; they are transcribed as label-only rows with empty value cells. The raised 1 after "cases" in the second column heading is the footnote marker. Date ranges are printed with an en dash ("July 1941-June 1942"); transcribed with a plain hyphen. All figures are internally consistent: pending + received = on docket, on docket - closed = pending at June 30, the four party-filing columns are not expected to sum to the total (footnote 1 explains the duplication), and the unfair-labor-practice and representation panels sum exactly to the all-cases panel in every cell. No cells were illegible.
