Reader’s notes

p. 38. The stub heading is printed with a stray ink mark before it (reads ".Petitioner"); transcribed as "Petitioner". The footnote marker 1 is printed as a raised digit to the left of the Total figures (6,285 and 6,010); it is written after the value behind a caret. The row label for the second affiliate renders in this scan as "O. I. O. affiliate"; the printed label is "C. I. O. affiliate" (the C is broken by the scan), and the percentages confirm it is a separate union federation row. Column components do not sum to the printed totals (closed: 2,813+2,723+659+92 = 6,287 vs 6,285; filed: 2,609+2,724+595+84 = 6,012 vs 6,010); this is explained by the footnote about joint petitioners and all figures are transcribed as printed. Percent values are typeset with a space after the decimal point (e.g. "44. 7"); the space has been removed.
