0 of 10 figures sit in a row or column sum that works out.
p. 34. Five printed columns: stub "Party filing", then a two-level spanner head "Cases closed" over Number / Percent of total and "Cases filed" over Number / Percent of total. In the Total row the footnote marker 1 is printed as a raised digit immediately before each of the two Number figures (5,456 and 4,967); it is transcribed as a trailing ^1 per instruction. The 4,967 cell also has a small stray ink mark to the left of the marker in the scan, treated as speckle and not transcribed. Arithmetic as printed: the detail lines sum to 5,462 closed and 4,973 filed, i.e. 6 more than each printed total, which is what footnote 1 explains. The one apparent rounding oddity is C. I. O. affiliate, Cases closed, Percent of total: 2,428/5,456 = 44.5 but 44.4 is printed; transcribed as printed. The 1942 scan prints decimals with a space after the point (e.g. "8. 6"), normalized to 8.6.
