Reader’s notes

p. 33. Five printed columns: stub (no printed heading), Number, Percent of cases closed, Percent of cases on docket, Workers involved. "Cases" spans the three middle columns; "Workers involved" is a tall heading spanning both heading levels, so it is repeated. Several percent cells hold a parenthesized raised 1 in place of a value (footnote 1, "Less than 0.1 percent") rather than a number; these are transcribed as "(^1)". They occur at: "Cases dismissed" (under Cases closed before hearing), Percent of cases on docket; "Cases dismissed" and "Cases withdrawn" (under the intermediate-report-hearing group), both percent columns; "Cases withdrawn" (under Cases closed after issuance of intermediate report), both percent columns; and "Cases withdrawn" (under Cases closed after board decision), Percent of cases on docket. In the "Cases closed by compliance" row under "Cases closed after court action", the Number cell is printed with a small raised 2 before 188; it is the footnote-2 marker, transcribed as "188^2". The row labels repeat ("Cases settled", "Cases dismissed", "Cases withdrawn", "Cases closed by compliance", "Cases closed otherwise") under different indent levels; indentation carries the grouping and is not reproduced in the cells. Dash rules in blank percent cells are rendered as "". Arithmetic checks are internally consistent as transcribed (2,164 + 4,817 = 6,981; 4,240 + 458 = 4,698; the five formal-action subgroups sum to 458; the four before-formal-action subgroups sum to 4,240; worker counts sum correspondingly; 6,981 − 4,698 = 2,283 and 67.3 + 32.7 = 100.0). No suspected misprints.
