p. 57. Eleven columns: stub, then "Total appearances on ballot" (Number; Valid votes cast), then "Won" and "Lost", each split into Elections (Number; Percent) and Valid votes cast (Number; Percent). "Total appearances on ballot" is a tall heading spanning the top two heading levels, so it is repeated in both; the stub has no printed heading. The crop cuts off the footnote block: only the uppermost sliver of the first footnote line is visible below the bottom rule (it begins "1 This table includes only those elections which ..."), and no footnote text can be read reliably, so `footnotes` is empty. The caption (excluded per instructions) carries footnote marker 1. Last column: the heading is printed as "Percent of appearances" for the Lost / Valid votes cast percent column, which looks like a misprint — it parallels the Won side's "Percent of total cast", and the values are indeed percentages of total valid votes cast (e.g. 20,090/57,151 = 35.2). Transcribed as printed. Row-label footnote markers on "Unaffiliated national unions" and "Unaffiliated local unions" are small raised characters degraded by the scan; read as 2 and 3 respectively (consistent with the caption's marker 1), but the glyphs themselves are not crisp. "Unions affiliated with A. F. of L." — the final period is run together with the leader dots that follow; the leaders are dropped and the abbreviating period kept, matching the clearly printed "C. I. O." in the next row. Arithmetic checks pass on every row (Won + Lost equals the total for both elections and valid votes cast, and the printed percentages match), which supports the digit reading and column placement.
