Reader’s notes

p. 26. Stub column has no printed heading, so cell 0 of both header levels is empty. In the "By settlement" row the footnote marker 1 is printed as a raised digit to the LEFT of 1,003; it is transcribed as 1,003^1. Cells printed as a parenthesised raised 2 — "(2)" — are footnote references standing in place of a percentage (footnote 2: "Less than 0.1 percent"); they are transcribed with the printed parentheses. Two apparent inconsistencies in the source, transcribed as printed: (a) "By transfer" / Cases in category shows (2) although 9 of 1,668 is about 0.5 percent; (b) every row of the "after issuance of complaint" block shows (2) under Total cases although e.g. 31 of 3,124 is about 1.0 percent. Blank-looking cells that carry only a dash rule — "By consolidation" / Workers involved and "Total complaint cases" / Cases in category — are given as "". Column totals cross-check: Cases 1,668 + 94 + 1,362 = 3,124 and Workers involved 232,265 + 17,621 + 694,720 = 944,606, both as printed. Minor rounding discrepancies elsewhere (7.4 vs 7.5 for 234/3,124; 93.6 vs 93.7 for 1,276/1,362; 1.0 vs 1.2 for 36/3,124) are left exactly as printed.
