  1. a Where the trial examiners held hearings in cases filed in the regional offices originally, and the Board held further hearings at a later date, the hearings before the trial examiners are the only ones listed.
  2. b Settled before decision of Board was issued.
  3. c Awaiting Board decision.
  4. d Decision not issued because of pending injunction proceeding.
  5. e Awaiting Board decision.
Reader’s notes

p. 153. Four printed columns: stub (Name of case), the two columns under the spanner "Date hearing held—" (By trial examiner / By Board), and the tall single heading "Date decision issued". Footnote markers: the raised letter after "By Board" in the heading is small and blurred; it is almost certainly the "a" that keys the first footnote (it images as a tiny circle/degree sign). The footnote letters printed at the foot of the page likewise render indistinctly: the third marker images closer to "e" than "c", but the sequence a-b-c-d and the body cells that cite it make "c" the intended letter. I have listed both forms in `footnotes` only to the extent they are printed; the "e Awaiting Board decision." entry and the "c Awaiting Board decision." entry are the SAME single printed footnote, not two — treat the duplicate as an artifact of this ambiguity and keep only one (marker "c"). Cells reading "do" are the printed ditto ("----do----") in the trial-examiner column, meaning the same date as the row above. "Do." in the decision column (Wayne Knitting Mills, Ansin Shoe Mfg. Co.) and the stub label "Do." (row 29, repeating Fisher Flouring Mills) are printed that way. Parenthesized italic letters (b), (c), (d) stand in the "Date decision issued" column in place of a date and are footnote references; I kept them as printed rather than rewriting them with a caret, since they are the whole cell content, not a marker attached to a value. Doubtful cells: National Casket Co., Inc. / Date decision issued reads "June 20, 1636"; the third digit images as 6, which is near-certainly a misprint or scan artifact for 1936 — transcribed as printed. Bendix Products Corporation / Date decision issued shows what appears to be a period rather than a comma after "28" ("Feb. 28. 1936"); transcribed as seen. The last row label's first characters are broken by the scan; I read "Pusey, Maynes & Breish Co". Atlanta Woolen Mills / Date decision issued occupies three printed lines ("Mar. 11, 1936", "June 10, 1936", "(supp. dec.)") within the one row; joined into a single cell. The list is an alphabetical-by-date roster that runs off the bottom of the page with no total line, so it continues on the following page(s); nothing is cut off laterally. The caption "XIV. LIST OF CASES HEARD AND DECISIONS RENDERED" and the page number 147 were omitted per instructions.

p. 154. This is a continuation page of a list table; the body runs 71 rows with no total or section lines. Footnote-letter cells: where no date was issued, the "Date decision issued" cell holds nothing but a small raised italic letter in parentheses. Because the parentheses are printed and the letter is the entire content of the cell (not attached to a value), these are transcribed literally as (b), (c) and (d) rather than with a caret. Letter legibility: the raised letters are very small and the scan renders "c" so that it frequently looks like "e" or "o". Since the only footnotes defined under the table are b, c and d, every such glyph that is not clearly a "b" or a "d" has been read as "c". Individual letters could therefore be misread, in particular the (d) cells at "Ohio Custom Garment Co." and "Bradley Lumber Co. (2 cases)", which are the only two d's I read. The footnote markers printed beneath the table itself show the same ambiguity: the second marker reads like "e" but is taken as "c" on the alphabetical sequence b, c, d. The table is continued from an earlier page, so a footnote "a" presumably exists there; no (a) marker was identified on this crop. "Alabama Mills, Inc." is the one row whose "Date decision issued" cell appears empty — every other row carries either a date or a parenthesized letter. A faint marker lost in the scan is possible; transcribed as blank as it reads. Repeat entries in "By trial examiner" print as "do." between dash leaders and are transcribed as "do."; the surrounding leaders are dropped. "By Board" is a dash rule (blank) for every row except Aluminum Company of America, Jones & Laughlin Steel Corporation and Wheeling Steel Corporation. Row-label spellings are kept as printed, including "Sommervile Manufacturing Co—Somerset Mfg. Co." (single "l", internal dash as set) and "Bemis Bros. Bag. Co." Small ink smudges sit in the leader dots of the "Aluminum Company of America" and "Aluminum Co. of America" rows; these are read as print noise, not footnote markers.

p. 155. This is a continuation page of a list-style table (caption "XIV. List of Cases Heard and Decisions Rendered—Continued"); the table begins on earlier pages, so rows before "Louis Hornick Co." are not on this crop, and footnote "a" (referenced on earlier pages) is not printed here. Column 4 ("Date decision issued") never holds a date on this page: every cell holds only a small raised letter in parentheses — a footnote reference standing in place of a date. I have transcribed these as printed, e.g. "(c)", rather than with the caret convention, because the parentheses are printed and the marker is the whole cell content rather than something attached to a value. Main uncertainty is telling the raised "b" from the raised "c" in column 4; the letters are only a few pixels tall in this 1-bit scan. The cells I read as "(b)" are: Chicopee Manufacturing Corporation, Auth Electrical Specialty Co. Inc., Do. (the Agwilines repeat), Toledo Shipbuilding Co., Magnolia Petroleum Co., Whiterock Quarries Inc., Selfast Dress Co., Prudential Knitting Mills. All other cells read "(c)" except Fisher Body Corporation and Chevrolet Motor Co., which read "(d)" (these two are distinctly taller-looped and consistent with the injunction footnote, since both are General Motors units). Doubtful row labels, all in the stub: "Toledo Shipbuilding Co., Inc. (2 cases)" — the abbreviation images as "Ino." because the "c" has closed up in the scan; I transcribed "Inc." as the evident printed word. "Quidnick Dye Works" images as "Quldnick" from the same kind of broken glyph. "Selfast Dress Co." is read literally and may be "Belfast Dress Co." — the initial letter is damaged. "Ilena Knitting Mills" may be "Elena"/"Ilena"; the initial capital is ambiguous. Rows 19 (International Harvester Co.) and 44 (Claussner Hosiery Co.) are the only two rows with a date under "By Board"; in both, the "By trial examiner" cell holds a dash rule and is transcribed as empty. In every other row the "By Board" cell holds a dash rule and is empty. "Do." (row 24) is the printed repeat label for the preceding case, Agwilines, Inc.; it is indented in the original and kept as its own row. No totals or section lines appear in this table.
